Having a strong support system of well connected scholars and professionals who share your experiences yet have their unique perspectives.

Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO). It was my first real life interaction with the Cohort. Meeting everyone from faculty, mentors, and peers who have all worked hard to be there was a truly pleasant experience.

Do things your own way. It is good to keep in mind the experiences and advice of older Cohorts, but its equally as important to test new things for yourself. For me, a lot of the fun comes from trial and error and trying new things all the time!
