Best thing about KGSP:
KGSP has provided many opportunities for me to get closer to my goal. It gave me the chance to a foundation year in the U.S. Which will give me a good transition to my freshman year of college. KGSP has also encouraged me to participate in many extracurriculars during my foundation year including joining the Saudi Students Association at UIUC, which helped broaden my social network.
Why science matters for Saudi:
STEM and research are important in order to build skills in analysis, comprehension, collaboration, and innovation. Getting a STEM education will hone the students' knowledge in that specific field. Research experience is a vital skill that every student should go through because it provides a foundation for problem-solving and enables integrative thinking. This will all play a role in building an effective workforce and having sustained growth for Saudi Arabia’s future.
Best experience so far / How KGSP helped me:
My favorite KGSP event was the Pre-Departure Orientation. It was an opportunity for me to connect with the Peer Student Guides, alumni, faculty members, and all of my cohort. The three days we spent on KAUST’s campus were the highlight of my year. We also got to work in groups and explore the labs on campus, and I cannot wait for next year’s KGSP convocation event.
Research Interests:
My research interest is aerospace robotics, which includes a wide range of devices used in space such as manipulators, mobile, and flying/floating robots. I am interested specifically in robotic manipulator systems and dynamic modeling. I am hoping to do research within my interest area with the help of KGSP.
