Alumni News
Did you know that the KGSP Alumni community has a podcast?
The KGSP Cast, the Alumni community’s podcast, is currently recording episodes for its third season. Each episode is hosted by KGSP Alumni and features guests from the community or experts in the topics discussed. The first two seasons have episodes that covered topics ranging from Alumni pursuing the arts to mental health awareness, travel and adventures, career paths, the KGSP experience, and many more.
Episodes are recorded virtually and then edited and mastered for high sound quality by the KGSP Cast producer. The third season will debut with an episode featuring two KGSP Alumni discussing their experience with the new Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship (TIE) program at KAUST, while they were living in Shenzhen, China as part of the program’s inaugural cohort. Sulaiman Alsuhaibani, KGSP Cohort 12 Alumnus, is the featured host of the episode with Jana Alghamdi as the guest. When asked about his experience, Sulaiman had this to say:
“I wanted to host an episode just because it seemed like a new and interesting experience for me. Over the years, my friends and I would often joke around that we should record one of our conversations and turn it into a podcast. So, when I got the chance to do so, I thought “why not”. In all fairness, moving to Shenzhen to incubate a startup made it easy to hold an interesting conversation.
I surprisingly really enjoyed the process and had a positive experience, so I wanted to keep on doing it. It seems like a fun side quest I could do from time to time to keep my life more dynamic.”

Episodes typically take one to two hours to record. Following the recoding the editing and mastering process can take upwards of 6 hours to complete. Episodes are then released on a monthly basis with a few breaks around holidays and summer vacation.
The third season of the KGSP Cast’s recording is not yet completed and we are still looking for more alumni to host episodes. If you, or someone you know, are interested in participating in an episode, please reach out to the KGSP Alumni Office.
