Best thing about KGSP:
The number of opportunities and support is unprecedented
Why science matters for Saudi:
STEM is the underpinning of the world's economy, healthcare, agriculture, and any kind of mass production. The importance of STEM fields and research is often underestimated, and in an increasingly technologically oriented world, it has become imperative to be at the forefront of it. In accordance with Vision 2030, we must become a self-sufficient country and STEM fields and research are the most vital and cataclysmic steps we can take towards true independence.
Best classes so far / What I’m doing now:
Calculus. The professor is a brilliant mathematician and I enjoy the challenge.
Best experience so far / How KGSP helped me:
The event that stands out the most was the Pre-departure Orientation. I experienced the KGSP in full force for the first time and seeing the diversity of achievements and goals of both the KGSP and the KAUST team made it into a truly enlightening experience.
Advice for newbies:
Make a schedule and stick to it. It's very easy to get lost in all the new and exciting things around you, and although it's not necessarily a bad thing to have fun, be sure to do so in moderation.
In ten years I’ll be…
In the process of receiving my PhD.
Research Interests:
Bio-systems and Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Human-Computer Interaction, and Artificial Intelligence
