Project 24: Flow visualization in jet flames

Internship Description

To understand an interaction between a flame and its flow field.
Methodology: Experiment. Using simple co-axial burner setup. Establishing laminar flames. Laser Mie scattering imaging for the visualization. Particle Image Velcoimetry for a flow quantification​

Prerequisites

Core coursed in ME such as Thermodynamics, Fluids Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and Combustion (at least Chemistry). Optics and lasers are preferred but not mandatory.​​

Deliverables/Expectations

Trained as an experimental student.
