Project 10: Biomedical applications of Artificial Intelligence

Internship Description

The aim of the project is to understand our understanding of complex diseases through the development and application of novel AI methods to biomedical data.​ ​We will use feature learning methods to generate representations of information in biomedical data, including experimental data (e.g., time-series gene expression datasets), literature, and structured knowledge in databases.​

Prerequisites

Beneficial academic skills include knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, in particular deductive reasoning and machine learning; programming skills; statistical data analysis. No prior knowledge in bioinformatics or biology is required.​

Deliverables/Expectations

Outcome will be a novel AI method for a particular biomedical problem, comparatively evaluated against existing methods.
