What is KGSP?

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology established the KAUST Gifted Student Program (KGSP) in 2008, with an aim of creating a pool of highly-qualified Saudi students within the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math, who will contribute to KAUST's mission of advancing scientific knowledge through cutting-edge research and education.

The KGSP provides talented Saudi high school graduates with the guidance and support to successfully navigate their undergraduate degree programs at premier institutions in the U.S. Students benefit from individualized advising, enrichment, and pre-professional opportunities, while maximizing the unique cultural experiences of living abroad. Upon completing their Bachelor's degree, students return to Saudi Arabia with newly acquired skills and perspectives, ready to begin Master's and PhD programs at KAUST and add to the   intellectual and cultural fabric of the University and Kingdom.

Selection to KGSP is extremely competitive and currently by invitation only. Accepted  candidates possess both impressive academic credentials and extra-curricular achievements, including but not limited to: participation in the Saudi Research  Science Institute, the Aramco Gifted Programs, the International Mathematics Olympiad, the INTEL ISEF, the Model United Nations, Toastmasters, and other volunteer and community  service programs.

“The youth represent the nation’s beacon of bright hope for its future.”
